LATE SPRING SCENES FROM THE PGT

Late spring view of CRP planting with a mix of grasses and a few forbs (and some annual weeds).

Rattlesnake master, Eryngium yuccifolium, was part of the first prairie plantings on the areas south of the house and are plentiful there now 18 years later.

Woodsii obtusa, also known blunt-lobed cliff fern, was found on a north-facing slope. You can see the spores on the underside of the leaves. In mid-May, Showy Orchid and Yellow Ladies Slipper flowers were blooming on the slope above the cliff fern.
